Lost Property

Lost Property (2021) was a collaborative artist’s workshop initiated by Beth Simcock and Joanna McClurg. The following work was made with the participation of: Yuhong Wang, Zoe Harding, Willow Senior, Rubia Southcott, Oliver Towarek, Max Watkins, Katie Morris, Joe Amies, Erika Cann, Eleanor Capstick, Elanor Ludlam, Antonio Gullo, Ezra Allen, and Abe Sugarman.

 Before the workshop, an online form asked the artists involved to anonymously describe a lost ‘thing’. The answers to the questionnaire were randomly divided between workshop participants, who each made a drawing in response to their given thing, feeling or place. The remaining drawings and phrases were then returned to the virtual “lost property box”, where they formed the basis of several hours of collaborative visual poetry, imagining a collective memory of lost and found.
